This is one of the plethora of fabulous 1970's editorials; this particular image is from Seventeen magazine, which I'm sure was not as shockingly trivial as today's magazines for teenagers can be. My favourite elements of this image, although it is impossible to single out one thing (oh my, that hammock), is the transitional time this image represents. Taken in 1971, the styling is definitely 70's in the aztec prints, matching pieces and muted, yet strong, colours but there is still something distinctively 60's coming seeping through; the relaxed, hippy vibe emulated through the lounging girl on the hammock with the hippy headband yet polished curls perfectly illustrates this phase that is intrinsically formed through the changing of decades.

I can't believe this was in Seventeen Magazine once! It's funny how all the trends came back...
