I've had a little bit of a girl crush on Hanne-Gaby Odiele for a while now, when I say little, a crush is unquantifiable of course but I would define little as being smitten enough to follow her around and hide in bushes. Take this in jest of course.. I would be fascinated to watch Hanne at a photo shoot or behind the scenes at a fashion show to see the cogs in her brain quietly turning over; she clearly has a good head on her shoulders as your grandmother would say. It always fascinates me, and many others I'm sure, to have a little insight into the things that make models tick because human nature leads one to construct this fantasy world in which these other wordly creatures live. It's lovely to read answers to questions like this...

IM: Who do you admire, fashion-wise that is?
HG: Anyone who has a true sense of personal style. That is to say that they dress for what they like, not what they think they should.
IM: What are some things you never travel without?
HG: My passport, and as of late my djembe drum. I took it with me to couture this season!
IM: What do you listen to on your iPod?
HG: I lost that awhile ago, I like to think that it’s in a better place. One of my friends has been borrowing it for 6 months now. I hope that it comes back with lots of new music. But right now I’m listening to The Books.
IM: Doing any reading lately? If so, what?
HG: I’ve been reading Quantum Shift in the Global Brain: How the New Scientific Reality Can Change Us and Our World.
IM: What is your favorite food?
HG: La Esquina in NYC. The best Mexican food!
IM: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
HG: I don’t like to predict the future. Let’s see where my path takes me.
IM: Any place you would love to visit?
HG: I would absolutely love to go to Mount Everest someday!
IM: Your favorite movie?
HG: Easy Rider.
IM: Currently obsessed with?
HG: My new bike to cruise around Manhattan with, and African musical instruments.
